Antique AUSTRIAN JEWELED & ENAMELED Compact, Patch, OR Pill BOX

Description

Please find for sale this wonderful antique powder compact, patch box, or pill box.  The compact is ornate with filigree on the top and a quasi leaf pattern along the sides. The top is adorned with bezel set multi colored stones and applied enameled quasi leaf and flower motifs that are scattered on the surface. The cover is hinged. The mirror has been removed from the inside making the top filigree become an open work design. If needed, a replacement mirror or possibly some fabric lining could be glued in place making the piece airtight. It is marked "Made in Austria" on the bottom. It measures approx. 2 1/4" in diameter. It is old and preowned and as such, has age related wear.  Some of the enamel is missing from the applied leaf motifs and there is corrosion to the metal on the inside bottom.  There is a crimp along the top edge.  Amazingly,
all the jewels are present.
The friction held top fits snugly.
I will include 2 pieces of black felt fabric that fit into the compact so that it could be lined if desired.
