Beautiful covered butter dish in Booths "Chinese Tree" pattern A8001, made in England.  Thomas Booth made this high quality dinnerware from 1912-1929. I believe it is hand-painted over transferware. The company eventually merged with Royal Doulton in 1971.  This butter dish measures 7-1/2" diameter at the plate top, 5-1/4" diameter at the lid opening, and about 5" in height. There are no cracks, and only one very small chip on the underside of the plate rim that is not visible from the top. There is some crazing of the lid due to age. This lovely butter dish has been carefully used and enjoyed, and has been stored in a smoke-free and pet-free home. For security it will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail.
